Our Approach

Relationships change Communities, so we create the conditions for them to grow.

Real change doesn't begin with agreement.

It doesn't begin with policy. It doesn't even begin with education. It begins the moment one person becomes genuinely curious about another.

At Challah and Soul, we design experiences that make those moments possible, where strangers become neighbors, stories replace assumptions, and trust begins to take root.

We don't start with programs.

We start with people.

How We Build Belonging

Every experience we create is built on three interconnected pillars.

Together, they transform a shared meal into something much more lasting: a relationship.

Food

Food Is the Invitation.

Every culture has recipes that tell stories.

Black and Jewish traditions, though distinct, share remarkable histories of resilience, resourcefulness, and hope. Meals born from humble ingredients became expressions of identity, survival, celebration, and love.

That shared understanding is where we begin. Because something extraordinary happens when people cook, serve, and eat together.

Conversation becomes easier, walls come down. Participation comes before persuasion. We share a table before we share our stories.

Stories

Stories Build Trust.

Facts can inform us, but stories transform us.

When someone shares their lived experience, and another person listens with openness rather than judgment, something shifts.

Labels give way to humanity. Assumptions become questions. Distance becomes connection.

For generations, both Black and Jewish communities have carried history through storytelling. We honor that tradition by creating spaces where personal narratives become bridges between people.

Education

Education Inspires Action.

Understanding doesn't come from memorizing history, it comes from experiencing it together.

Our educational experiences combine historical context, facilitated dialogue, and experiential learning that helps participants understand not only what happened, but why it still matters today.

Learning becomes more than information. It becomes a foundation for empathy, courage, and continued conversation long after the gathering ends.

Around The Table

Every philosophy needs a place to come alive. One Soul. Many Tables. is Challah and Soul's signature gathering model, where food, storytelling, and education become lived experiences. Around shared meals and guided conversation, people from different backgrounds come together to listen deeply, share honestly, and discover just how much connects us.

Inspired by the four "new years" of the Hebrew calendar, each gathering explores universal themes like belonging, freedom, accountability, and renewal, creating space for relationships that extend far beyond the table.

Because lasting change doesn't begin with agreement.

It begins with a conversation.
